Wilde, Romantic, and a Little Bit Magical...

Court Colman Manor is one of those venues that manages to feel grand and impressive without ever feeling too formal. Set just outside Bridgend, the beautiful manor house, sweeping grounds and surrounding countryside give us so much variety to work with throughout a wedding day.

We’ve been photographing and filming weddings at Court Colman for years, and over that time it’s become a venue we know incredibly well. We have a very close relationship with the team and are proud to be one of Court Colman’s recommended suppliers. That familiarity makes a real difference on a wedding day — we know where the light works best, where to disappear for a few minutes of portraits, and how to make the most of the venue without keeping you away from your guests for too long.

There are also a few surprises if you know where to look. One of our favourites is the waterfall tucked away near the entrance. Almost everyone passes it on their way into Court Colman without realising it’s there, but it’s actually one of our favourite locations for photographs. We’d call it a hidden gem, but considering every guest drives straight past it, it might be one of Bridgend’s worst-kept secrets!

Court Colman has a little bit of television history too, having been used as a filming location for the Gavin & Staceyfinale. It’s always fun pointing out some of the recognisable spots, particularly for couples and guests who are fans of the show.

Back at the manor, there’s no shortage of beautiful places to explore. From the traditional interiors and character of the house to the gardens and grounds outside, we can create plenty of variety without needing to travel anywhere. Whether it’s a quiet moment together in the gardens, relaxed photographs with your guests or heading out for some gorgeous golden-hour portraits, there’s always another corner to discover.

Just as importantly, Court Colman has always had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. We know the team extremely well, and that close working relationship helps everything flow naturally on the day. When the venue team, photographers and filmmakers all know each other and work well together, it makes the experience that little bit easier for everyone — most importantly, you.
